Discovery and Nissan mechanic transport

Rally Raid UK also provide turnkey assistance packages for bikes and cars in a number of rallies across the world. We run a fleet of specially modified vehicles designed to deliver mechanical service in the most inhospitable terrain and conditions. Presently the fleet consists of a number of LandRover Td5s, a pair of Ford F350 pickup trucks, Nissan Patrols, plus a 4-by-4 truck and a 6-by-6 truck.

These vehicles are equipped with all the normal services that you would expect, such as welding, air compressors, and all the required tools to conduct major repairs to both cars and bikes, basically in the middle of nowhere.

The mechanics that work for Rally Raid UK all have a long history in maintenance of cars, bikes, or both. They also have an overpowering interest in desert rallies, which helps keep them focused during the long days of the Dakar.

It's important to correctly choose the mechanics, especially when your assistance days cover almost as much mileage as the competition cars and bikes. Mechanics need to be able to sleep in the day on the move and then work all night when the vehicles are available.

To this extent the assistance drivers are also very important and carefully chosen. The Dakar is the worlds toughest Rally and as such it has the worlds toughest assistance. The two really go hand in hand.

If you think you have what it takes to help out on the mechanical front, or drive an assistance vehicle, then please get in contact with us at assistance@rallyraid.co.uk. Please remember that you will need an impressive CV and the ability to pay your way.
