Desert Training
It's under there somewhere... Honest...

Every year Rally Raid UK takes a group of bikers and car drivers out to the Morocco desert for a spot of practice and testing.

This year six cars and three bikes are going in mid October to the deserts of Morocco for testing and training.

Rally Raid are also running two competition prize days on behalf of one of our sponsors. Each of the day's ten lucky winners will get to ride desert-prepared bikes under the tuition of Mick Extance, three times Dakar finisher.

Rally Raid UK provide all the assistance and backup services for these competition days, whilst for the Dakar entrants this trip offers the ability to test and train for the big event in January.

Testing in Morocco offers this option to allow you to set up your bike or car and ensure that all the technology is working with you rather than against you. Better to find this out in October than the 4th of January.

If you are signed up for the Dakar then one way of preparing would be to enter one of the other desert rallies around the world. They all offer a taste of the Dakar, but the one thing they can't offer you is the ability to stop and work out how your suspension should be set for that type of ground, or how to deal with this dune field or that dried up river bed.
